Hello, my name is Lisa DeMarquez.  I am a local girl, born and raised right here in San Jose.  I taught pre-kindergarten in Los Gatos and Saratoga for 8 years prior to coming to Cambrian School District where I have been for 23 years now!  For 15 years I taught at Farnham as a reading specialist and in grades 3-5.  This is my 9th year here at Price.  I taught 6th-grade math, science, and social studies for 3 years before transitioning to my current position as 7th-grade math and 7th/8th computer science teacher.

I live in the Cambrian area with my husband of 22 years, Richard, and our 2 children Kirstin (college senior) and Aiden (college freshman). My two step-daughters, Clarissa and Madison, are college grads living and working in southern California.  All of our children attended schools in the Cambrian district. Fun fact, Mr. DeMarquez is also a Cambrian alum!  I am very excited to get to know you all and look forward to an amazing year.

I graduated from San Jose State with a degree in Liberal Arts and Mathematics and hold both a multiple-subject and single-subject credential (mathematics). I have also received certification in computer science.

My favorite things to do are hang out with my family and watch my kids play sports, but when I have a little extra free time I enjoy reading, playing hockey, biking, pilates, and playing with my dogs, Lily and Gizmo.   My favorite place is the coast!  I LOVE being by the ocean, so I spend as much time as I can in Santa Cruz!  

 I am so excited about the opportunity to be your teacher this year.  We are going to have fun exploring and problem solving both in math and computer science.  It is going to be an amazing year!
